  1. Golabki

    1 head cabbage (about 3lb)

    1 lb. ground beef

1/2 lb. ground pork or veal (optional)

1-2 family size cans of  Campbell's Tomato Soup

    2 cups cooked rice

    2 eggs

    1 onion finely chopped

    2 Tbsp. butter

    Salt and pepper to taste

Remove the core from the cabbage. Put the cabbage in boiling water and remove the leaves as they soften. sauté the onions in the butter for a short time. In a bowl add the onions, meat, rice, eggs and salt and pepper, mix this well.

Place about 2 Tbsp. Of the meat mixture in the center of a cabbage leaf and roll. Put the meat rolls in a large pot with cover (if I'm making a lot, I use a roasting pan with lid instead) and pour the tomato soup onto the rolls.   Cook in a 350 preheated oven for 35-50 minutes or until fork tender.

  2. GOLUMPKIS

    1 lb. hamburger

    Lg. onion, chopped

    Chopped green pepper

    1/2 lb. bacon

    Brown and drain.

    1 egg

    3/4 c. cooked rice

Remove core from cabbage. Boil in salted water until leaves are tender. About 5 minutes. Wrap large spoonfuls of the hamburg mixture in large cabbage leaves. Place in 9x13 inch pan seam side down. Chop extra cabbage and spread over stuffed cabbage. Pour 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce over all. Pour on 2 cans of water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. 325 degrees for glass pans. Cover with foil if browning too much.

    STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS - POLISH

    GOLUMPKI

    2 c. cooked rice

1 to 1 1/2 lbs. raw ground beef

    1/4 c. diced, minced onion

    1/4 tsp. salt & pepper

1 med. green head of cabbage

    SAUCE:

    1 can tomato soup

1 bouillon cube, dissolved in 1/2 can of water

    2 tbsp. sour cream

Mix together the rice, raw ground beef and onion. Boil the head of cabbage after coring it, just to loosen the leaves for about 3 to 5 minutes. Take 1 leaf out at a time and fill it with approximately 2 tablespoonfuls of rice-meat mixture. Fold it over horizontally and then bring in the sides of leaf to make a pocket. Arrange in a covered casserole dish or roasting pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Mix the sauce ingredients until creamy and spoon over the finished golumpki. Serve with rye bread and Polish sausage. Serves about 6 to 8 people.

    Hope this helps! =)
