The Bavarian attacker has admitted that Olympique Marseille will not be an easy side to beat in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League.
Jupp Heynckes’ side will face French giants Marseille in the first-leg of the last eight fixture at the Stade Velodrome on Wednesday, March 28. The German giants have progressed to the quarter-final stage after beating http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079
in the knock-out stage and are aiming to play in the final at their home ground, Allianz Arena.
Mario Gomez claimed that the team would not be satisfied with a draw in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 and is confident that his side will emerge as winners to relieve the burden for the second-leg. However, the striker admitted that a win would never
be easy as the French giants have been phenomenal in Europe this season.
Les Phoceens have earlier dumped Italian giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Borussia Dortmund and have the capability of getting a
result against any team.
“No, we're never satisfied with a draw, but it is going to be very, very tough. Marseille don't have the big names of Real Madrid or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, but they're still very dangerous. They didn't knock Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund
out for nothing. They're no strangers at this level. They're a real obstacle which we're going to need our full focus to overcome,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Gomez admitted that he would most likely extend his current deal at the club and has insisted that the club has also shown interest in offering him a new contract, especially after the player has been linked
to some of the top sides in Europe.
“Pretty likely, but difficult to say percentage-wise. I have a good feeling and I believe the club does too, but we'll have to see what happens,” he concluded.
Mario Gomez has been in sensational form this season and has already scored 36 times in the 39 appearances made. The striker is leading the Bundesliga goalscoring charts with 23 strikes in the 26 games played thus far.
