Gone Downto Jim hot favourite for Owners´ Bonus Series - Heat 1 (A2)
Gone Downto Jim has been rated as hot favourite for the Owners´ Bonus Series - Heat 1 (A2) at Peterborough in England on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. The winner of the race will bag a cash prize of £83.
The 420 metres flat race is scheduled to start at 21:07 GMT and following runners will be seen in action in it: Gone Downto Jim, Gateway Callum, Ballymac Doreen, Astrum, Eye Gotta Feelin and Knockrour Boom.
The bookmakers have full confidence in the abilities of Gone Downto Jim, who has got excellent speed and stamina and can match anyone in this class. He will definitely attract a lot of bets from the punters for today’s race.
The P. Ward’s trainee has managed to win a couple of races out of his previous five outings, which shows the kind of form he is in at the moment. He is a regular at Peterborough, thus will be fully aware of the conditions.
Last time when the black dog ran in a Grade A2 event, he finished third in it. He was not rated as the favourite, but was still awarded pretty decent odds. However, he was unable to make any impression on the top two and had to settle for the third place
in the end.
Despite that, Gone Downto Jim has won the confidence of everyone for this race and he will definitely be a tough nut to break. He is the son of Droopys Kewell out of Lively Clipper and was born in July 2009.
Other than that, Gateway Callum will also be a force to reckon at Peterborough, as he is a quality performer. He has got a lot of experience and has performed well over the past few events.
The E. Gowler’s trainee finished runner up in his most recent run, which shows that he is in good rhythm right now. However, he was rated as the favourite to win back then and should have done a lot better.
A clear run might see Gateway Callum finish on top of the table at Peterborough. He is the son of Ahane Lad out of Rutland Lilly and was born in May 2008.
