Gonzalez/ Monaco take down Golubev/ Kukushkin in the doubles rubber at Power Horse World Team Cup

Argentine squad had a terrific start at the Power Horse World Team Cup, as the pair of Maximo Gonzalez and Juan Monaco took down the Kazakh duo of Andrey Golubev and Mikhail Kukushkin in the round robin on Sunday.
The Argentines took just 71 minutes to wrap up a straight sets victory 6-4, 6-3, to finish of the tie against Kazakhstan at 3-0 in the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour 250 event.
Team Argentine was already leading the tie by 2-0 by winning the two singles rubbers and completely white washed the Kazakh squad when Gonzalez and Monaco clinched the doubles matchup as well. The winning duo displayed great coordination
and combined their efforts to perfection to root out their opponents. Golubev and Kukushkin looked in no sort of form in the contest and submitted the game to their superior opponents. The two Kazakhs have already lost in their singles rubbers against the
Argentines.
Gonzalez and Monaco orchestrated most of the rallies in the game and proved their superiority over their rivals in every segment of the game. The Argentines’ first serve reached 71 per cent in the contest and converted five out
of eight break chances en route to victory. Golubev and Kukushkin struck two break points in the game but they couldn’t restrain the hard-hitting Argentines from sealing victory.
A clear lack of coordination was seen among the Kazakh pair with the Argentines exploiting their weakness to perfection. The Argentines fired plenty of winners through the open cracks between Golubev and Kukushkin to keep pressure
high on them. They remained focused in the game and concluded a straight sets victory to take their team home.
Gonzalez and Monaco ignited the opening set with a serve break to put their opponents under pressure early. Golubev and Kukushkin replied with a break point in the seventh game but a crucial serve break from the Argentines at 5-4
left them no chance. Gonzalez and Monaco sealed the opening set at 6-4 to get one up in the contest.
Demolition job from the Argentine duo continued in the following set as Golubev and Kukushkin started to crumble under the pressure of defeat. Gonzalez and Monaco belted a total of three serve breaks in the second set before the
Kazakh opponents finally surrendered at 3-6, to let Russia away with an emphatic 3-0 victory.
The Russians finished all of their three matches against Kazakhs in straight sets and move on to meet the next opponent in the Round Robin of the World Team Cup.
