Higuain was reasonably impressed with his showing in Pamplona, and praised Jose Mourinho for having faith in his abilities.
"The coach had faith in me again and I managed to respond."
The Argentinean international was pleased with his 100th and 101st strike for Madrid and did not refrain from gloating about his achievement.
"I'm happy for the victory and with tallying 101 goals for this club. It makes me proud and incredibly happy."
The victory enables Real Madrid to continue their impressive La Liga form and maintain their 6-point lead at the top of the points table.
Reflecting on the situation, Higuain was pleased with chances of raising a trophy at the end of the season, but believes they cannot let their guard down in their remaining Primera Division matches.
"We have a great lead in the championship and we must keep up the good work till the end of the season," the centre forward insisted. "There are eight games left and we're calm about the prospect of winning the title we all want.”
"We're all in good form and we always try to do our best on the pitch. We are very happy with our performance."
Real Madrid return their attention to their UEFA Champions League endeavours in midweek as they host Cypriot minnows, APOEL Nicosia, at the Bernaebu.
