I turn 16 in December- I have a permit.

However i'm completely lost at finding the perfect car.

It's important that the car is safe, pretty good price range,

and of course cute!

I'm interested in the volxswagon beetle bug the newest one the covertible- but i'm not so sure if that's the car for me- I really want something sporty but old school- like hardcore.

I know a mustang is a cute car-but my parents will not accept to that because it is made by ford- which ThEy don't believe is a good manufactuer of cars.

I REALLY WANT the jeep wrangler- so badly. but of course gas prices are sky high, and it's a gas hog. it seems like a really cool car though.

I don't really like the honda civic or cars that look similar to that..

if someone could help me out that'd be great-thanks so much!

  1. Get a porsh, seriously, if you get one from like the 60s their really good shape too!

  2. Get a nice American car, small to medium scale, and enjoy the moderate repair costs and modest price. Chasing after foreign cars is so exasperating. They are overpriced and oversold as being better; they are not.

  3. Look into Misubishi cars like an Eclipse or Galant. Something more sporty might be a BMW 3 series or a Nissan Maxima. All of these are good makes or cars, especially Nissan and BMW.

Im 17 and I drive an Infiniti (Infiniti is made my Nissan) and love it.

  4. let's start with the Jeep Wrangler.

if your going "mudding" or rock climbing the CJ is the King but

if your driving to work or school the wrangler is the worst vehicle on the road with the exception of the VW beetle.

Both cars are at the top on lists of used cars to AVOID.

the old Vw's were bullet proof, the new beetles are junk on wheels.

don't buy an jeep new or old.

if you want a small SUV read this article:

    http://editorial.autos.msn.com/article.a...

for your first car get one of these

    for $4,000

    look for

98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

  5. jeeps are good but they roll easy. really easy cause of the short wheel base. stick with a mustang or vw beetle

  6. The Mustang by Ford is their top seller, and the top of line sports car. The maintenance would be high, and the insurance may be high, depending on what state. The Toyota Camry would be best suited until you get use to driving. Gas mileage is good, maintenance cost is low, reliability of Toyota is good. Get a 4 cylinder if don't go out a lot, but a 6 cylinder if you do, or if your in a hilly area. Camry are not much of sports car, but they can run. I have a 1990 Camry and she still runs strong today. I have a 4 cylinder and I made her run to clean the carbon out the motor late one night. I had clocked at 130 on a straight road. Highway at  3am. Please don't do this, because I am a professional driver. So, I am telling the Camry is the best for you to train.

  7. Before shopping, seriously, read up here:

  8. Get a Volvo= they last, so you can resell it for something to fit your driving style after practice that goes with traffic== Y ou and your passengers will feel safe in a Volvo= shine it up sharp= it's a sharp safe ride == good luck= and welcome to the wonderful world of grumpy drivers= and always remember yellow light means caution, always be in control of the intersection so you can stop on a dime ==

  9. First of all I agree with your parents 100% on there out put..

The jeeps is a good  vehicle and the do come in 4 & 6

cylender motors and not that hard on gas as somepeople say they are,, I had a 89 Jeep comanche ( pick-up ) and I loved that truck and I keep kicking myself for selling that.

Have you thought about a Jeep Cherokee? now there is one nice ride and  real safe... It is more safe than the Wrangler.

Well Good Luck shopping .......    b.Jerry30

  10. If you go VW good luck when it breaks on ya the parts will kill ya. Go with Toyota while not as "cute" as the beetle you will always get where you need to go, that is after all the primary reason that vehicles were invented.

  11. vw beetle
