  1. how exciting! cross country definately benefitted me... it teaches you perserverance and youll make some amazing friends!  but it takes time and effort... if youre not willing to put your all into it, it may turn into a bad experience.  Just try your hardest and be proud of your accomplishments, good luck! :)

  2. Be prepared for the hardest workouts of any other sport. Don't eat anything within atleast an hour before you run.  Have fun! Your gonna be running with your friends for an hour a day so tell jokes and have fun to make the time go by faster and easier.

  3. I just graduated and ran cross country since the 7th grade. one thing I wish i could have done was tried harder during practices.

I went to state as a team my sophomore year, and one thing our coach made us do during practices that year was intervals, and timed miles..  he was only at our school for one year, and he was the only coach i'd ever had to take us to state..

my advice to you is just run fast during the practices, and jog on your own a couple times a week.  you'll get strong and will see yourself improve.

  4. Make sure your body can take it...............eat right and rest.
