Good Authority to overcome 7lb rise in Higos Insurance Services Bournemouth Handicap at Salisbury
Karen George’s charge, Good Authority, is a progressive 5-year-old, having won a very tough competition at Leicester last time. The son of Chineur has grabbed two victories so far this season, and another one is on the cards at Salisbury, where he will be
seen in the Higos Insurance Services Bournemouth Handicap on Wednesday, October 03, 2012.
Good Authority has been upped 7lb for his fresh strike. Denying a rise is always a tough task, but the way he performed last time, we expect him to come up to the expectations. He recorded his first win of the season at Kempton in June, when beating Choral
by a neck’s distance.
The situation was very complicated, but the big fellow kept his cool in the hands of Tom McLaughlin. He led near the line, and eventually won the Read Nick Luck In Racing Plus Handicap. His latest effort was equally impressive. Despite failing to make a
fine start, he progressed smoothly, and ran on to lead near the post.
With the help of a classy act, the 9-1 chance beat Konstantin by a head’s distance in the Willoughby Handicap. After showing a superb act, the Mountarmstrong Stud-bred is in great shape, looking good to do more wonders.
There are 17 other horses in the line-up for today’s 6-furlong meeting, which will be started at 16:10 GMT. The ultimate champion will leave the field with a handy prize worth £4,075.
Out Do is unexposed, and seems to be the biggest danger to Good Authority. The 3-year-old ran a good race last time, sealing the third position at Doncaster. After a long rest of almost five months, Luca Cumani’s trainee is fresh, aiming to make his handicap
debut with a huge bang.
Bay Knight is expected to continue struggling. On the other hand, Sir Pedro is yet to go on from debut win, and needs a dramatic turnaround. Links Drive Lady is in winning rhythm, but 14lb higher than when winning run began.
Good Authority’s both wins came at seven furlongs, but he has done reasonably well over this distance. His latest form makes him the most appealing contestant. We wish the best of luck to all the horses.
