Question:

Good Barcelona nightlife?

I will be staying in Barcelona close to the Sagrada Familia. Does anyone have any suggestions for good bars/lounges/dance clubs that are reasonably priced (i.e. not $15 for a drink)? I heard the Eixample and Olimpic Port are good bets.

  1. look in google earth/maps, and it will show you where all those kind of places are. then you could look up the names of the places you like the look of, and read reviews about them.

  2. You don't mention when you'll be going, but I'm afraid 15$ is the norm for a drink in Barcelona - especially around the Olympic Port. Don't drink directly on las ramblas, and avoid the Irish and English pubs, as they'll sell you imported beers at a higher price. Stick to the local bars and the local brews (Estrella Damm is the local beer, or san Miguel). Sprirts are not measured, so are often a good deal (like not exactly 25cl for s ingle, for example, they just fill your glass), but bear in mind that if you want to go to the best bars/lounges/clubs, then you'll pay the same as you would in NYC or London - top dollar. Try and get a happy medium with local bars to get you going and then nightclubs with just a few drinks!

I won't go into detail of places as I have no idea what you like with regards music/vibe or how old you are, but there are loads of places. You'll need to go down town (there's nothing really worth going to near Sagrada Familia with rgeards going out - maybe the odd frankfurt bar) for all the action though.

  3. You really just need to explore it yourself...i just got back from Spain 3 weeks ago..and it was amazing! Talk to local people...!
