I am looking at buying a used drum kit. I've done alot of research but there are just too many to choose from. I am looking at only these ones on this craigslist list. If you could quickly go through it and tell me a couple that are worth checking out, that would be greatly appreciated. Looking at no more than $600

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/search/sss?query=drum+kit&minAsk=100&maxAsk=600

I am just starting, but dont want a complete junker or basic kit that i have to upgrade later on.

If you help me out I'll +1 your answer, and anyone who gives me the most accurate answer will get best answer.

thanks.

  1. Pearl

  2. Some of those guys didnt even post pics...so I skipped their ads because you really need pics to sell drums over the web so people see what they are getting.

But...I saw the FIRST Pearl Target kits is not bad....

but I also saw the Pearl Forum Series kits with the date Aug 23 for $500. That one is not bad at all either. It comes with extra cymbals too. I've had 2 Tama kits and 1 Pearl kit so the Pearl kits are good too.

So, I would suggest either the one of the 2 Pearl kits I recommended earlier.

The good reliable drum brands in the market are

    1. Tama

    2. Pearl

    3. Ludwig

    4. Yamaha

    5. Sonor

    6. Mapex

    7. DDrum

Also..here are some good sites to shop also too.

    www.midwestpercussion.com

    www.music123.com

Hope this helps & Good luck

  3. i liked to start with either vic firth or zudijan
