I'm just wondering, what brand of earphones would you recommend buying that'll last the longest, and how much/where i could get them.

  1. I don't know about earphones but if you are looking for Headphones thab you can't beat AKGs. I bought mine 15 years ago to make sure the Recording Studio I was a partner in sounded the best. They worked perfectly but they cost $325. They beat Bose by a mile!

  2. I just bought a pair of Sennheiser CX 500 - really good for about $30.

It depends what type of earphones you want:

Noise Isolating - which actively filter out background noise - tend to be bigger headsets that wrap over the ear - tend to be more expensive e.g Bose Quiet Comfort (in the $100's range)

Non in-ear headphones - sennheiser PX200 are a good fairly inexpensive set. Koss Proata also very good.

In-ear or canalphones - the sennheiser CX 500 are canalphones i.e. earpiece goes right in to the ear - I thought they would be uncomfortable as I dont like earplugs etc, but they are not - very comfortable, come with different size fittings, and the sound is great - very good bass etc for the price.

I have heard Shure are the best - but different price league to sennheiser or Koss.  If you are just looking for very good quality relatively cheap headphones, my vote goes to Sennheiser.

  3. skullcandy is a pretty good brand. nice quality and stylish. ;)

you can get them at bestbuy, staples, pretty much any electronic store or office supplies.

the prices range from $20 for the earbuds and between $40 to $65 for the regular looking headphones.

i have a couple of pairs. they are nice. comfortable. and great sound/sound reduction.

  4. Koss make great dynamic sound producing earphones for about $20 at the most, look at best buy or wal mart. Great sound quality
