Good Business?

A friend flagged me down I not seen in years. He has a job of restoration of a hotel and now I am in a bind....

He asked me to bring my company in to bail him out.

I bring in two crews and with two other ready to start to get a cycle going. While I am there over past 4 days, the hotel owner asks me to take the helm pushing this old friend out of the picture because he has failed to meet the quota and since I brought my people in things is getting done in a timely manor with superb quality.

I talked to my friend about it and now placing me in a corner I did not ask to be in. He feels if I take over I betray him although I could keep him working under our agreement. Should I pull out in my best interest of not "betraying a old friend", where he looses out still. Or just continue and make a contract with the hotel owner that will also lead to a second hotel of equal size. Both hotels will have work for about 25 labors and carpenters for 8 months at both locations.

  1. ok here goes.yes it is betrayal but if he couldnt get the job done no its not. confused.ok to clarify it. lets take something from my line of business.i work for lowes a home improvement store called LOWES.if they didnt take the business from the small town lumber yards and soon do you think they would be the 2nd largest home improvement store in the world.no the would still be one of those mom and pop hardware stores. so to the point to get anywhere in this world you have to fight the world. powerhouse live long while the ponys stay in the stable.
