Question:

Good Car with Lots of HP?

I currently have a Mitsubishi Eclipse like the one here http://webiol.homenetinc.com/dealers/1468/3199/P0285.jpg

I don't know if it's just me, but it doesn't seem like it has a lot of HP (i'm used to riding a bike, so is that it?)

I am wondering, if i were to sell it or trade it for a new car, what should i get?

I would want something sporty looking, and good HP, and under $10K

I don't really like the "Weed Whackers" that buzz around.

Are there any good sporty-ish looking cars with Good HP for a Decent price?

Cheers guys!

(could you guys maybe give me a comparison too to my Mitsubishi if possible? cheers)

  1. 300 ZX TT

  2. easy, a comfortable, well made, and insanely quick car is a volvo 850turbo, they have 222hp 5cyls and get all thier torq at 2K rpm, so its like a rocket taking off, a 10minute tweak of the turbo gets you upto a safe 230-255hp these are turbo R specks same engine just tweaked wastegate. so this puts you at about 0-60 in 6.2 secs.(depending on how much boost you want 8.5-13 lbs) a cotton filter and flowmaster muffler will put you into the 270's

i have one and it is wicked fast... at 180,000 miles.

  3. 1. You want torque. Horsepower is just an imaginary unit calculated from torque, which is an actual, measurable unit.

    2. Your Eclipse doesn't have much of either, so that's not surprising. You have the heaviest, slowest version of it.

    3. Take a look for a 87-92 Supra, a 90-94 Eclipse GSX, or Talon TSi AWD; or something of that nature. Cheap enough to allow for upgrades later, but still delivers excellent performance to start with. Or, simply find a lighter car, like a Prelude Type S, or something like that. I guarantee it will feel much quicker than your current vehicle. :)
