We just put a white vinyl picket fence up in our backyard. We are looking for some shrubs and flowers to plant along the boarder to add more privacy. We are considering adding some climbers. What climbers would be good for a vinyl picket fence? Low Maintenance is a must. We also live in zone 5 or 6 depending on which map you look at.

  1. Honeysuckle, morning glories, mandavellas, mandavella red riding hoods, moon flowers. I love honeysuckles because they can adapt to anything-also mandavellas-but with honeysuckles you have to be carefull of other plants cause they will wrap around and kill other plants.

If you want fowering creepers go with red riding hood or moon flowers. I have moon flowers and they are crazy.

It just depends on what you want.

  2. honeysuckle is easy

    red trumpet vines

morning glories( heavenly blue are breathtaking)

    clematis

climbing roses( but harder to care for)

for shrubs you can try golden eunymous, boxwoods or azaleas which are pretty but feed tthem with acid fertilizer ...also lantana is a pretty low shrub that flowers and sweet broom
