Good Clothing Stores in NY for a teenage girl?

Question

im going there in a few weeks and what clothing stores that are good for a teenager? preppyish? i dont want to go to stores that you can find anywhere

not places like american eagle, holllister, h & m, abercrombie and fitch, macys, nordstrom, jcpenney, wet seal, etc.

oh and the location of the stores will be helpful

omg so to the So Ho fashion distric there are like none any where else!! they have cute clothes that come out before any where else. But you have to want to go to the place thats best of the best.

H&M is great and cheap.  You can find two of them on Fifth and 42 and Fifth and 54th.

I don't know of any non-mainstream boutiques that are for teenage girls specifically but you can try Bloomingdales, also there are a lot of boutiques in Soho (Spring Station on 6 train).  But those will be loads more expensive than your regular mainstream clothes.  You can try Feline's Basement or Century 21 for cheaper duds.
