Good Colleges in NY?

I'm looking for a list of colleges in NY that aren't CUNY schools. I know where to find the info for CUNY stuff but the other schools aren't as easy.

  2. Okay, so this was my answer from when someone else asked the same question a few days ago. I listed a few just outside the city, or nearby, but most that I listed are in NYC.

NYU and Columbia are the obvious New York City universities.

Eugene Lang/The New School, Cooper Union, Barnard, Fordham, Marymount Manhattan, Pace, St. John's, and the CUNYs are all in the city.

Sarah Lawrence and Hofstra are just outside the city.

Marist, Vassar, Adelphi, Bard, Manhattanville, another Pace campus, Dominican College, and SUNY-Stony Brook are all near the city.

I thought you were just looking for schools in the city, since you put CUNY instead of SUNY, but if you're interested in the entire state, Skidmore, Hobart & William Smith, Hamilton, St. Lawrence, RIT, Rochester, Ithaca, Syracuse, Colgate, Cornell, and many, many others are in New York. Here's a really long list: http://www.50states.com/college/newyork....  (scroll down to "More New York Colleges," because the list above that is mostly online schools).

  3. NYU, Columbia, Cornell, Syracuse, Binghampton (i know its a SUNY school, but its good) Buffalo (same thing...)

  4. You can always do the collegeboard.com College Matchmaker and put NY as your state preference. It'll match you with schools according to your answers.

The best schools in NY that I can think of are NYU, Columbia, Barnard (all girls), SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, and Cornell University. Of course there are many other colleges aside from the ones I've listed, but those are some of the top schools in NY.
