Good Comic Books for a beginner?

I am now starting to get into comics and I would like some suggestions on some heroes I should start with. Please give me one hero from DC and one hero from MARVEL

DC's main hero is Batman. His comics are often very good.

For Marvel, I suggest Ultimate Spiderman.

batman and the flash have good comics. also JUSTICE league off of dc. as for marvel i'd go with spiderman. :]

Batman and Superman are good characters to get into because there's a number of completely stand-alone stories you can read and enjoy going in with very little knowledge of the characters or their universe. For Batman, there's Year One and The Long Halloween,  and for Superman there's All-Star and Secret Identity.

For Marvel, I suggest Daredevil. You can start with Frank Miller Visionaries, Guardian Devil, or Underboss
