  1. I have been wanting to do a duet to the song Mirror by Barlowgirl. It is the awesomest song ever! It would work for what you are looking for too.

    Hope I helped!

  2. Well what style are you guys doing? Jazz? Lyrical? Contemporary? You need to be more specific! But here are a few for each with the emotions you're looking for.

    Lyrical:

    "Halo" - Haley James Scott

    "Mouth Shut" - The Veronicas

"Mirror" - BarlowGirl (not so much anger, but powerful song about being yourself)

"Dancing Dirt Into the Snow" - Missy Higgins

    "Blind Winter" - Missy Higgins

    Jazz:

    "Letter Read" - Rachael Yamagata

    "Unforgiven" - Fefe Dobson

"Shut Your Mouth" - Garbage (not sad, but definitely lots of anger. There was a jazz routine to this song years ago at my studio and it came out amazing)

    "Pain" - Three Days Grace

    Contemporary:

"Lamentation" - leah andreone (shifts from sad to anger towards the middle)

    "Irvine" - Kelly Clarkson

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Tori Amos

Hope I could help! You can find them all on iTunes

  3. I Hold Her- Bonnie McKee (slow and pretty song; a coming-of-age song so one could be the girl and the other the young woman)

Angel Standing By- Jewel (Hauntingly Beautiful; very slow; the story could be a deceased loved one who watches over the still living)

Mad World- Michael Andrews & Gary Jules (slow; this song can have so many stories: abuse, death, etc.)

The Moment I Said it- Imogen Heap (Beautiful; I've done a dance to this and it was dedicated to the choreographers friend who was in a drunk driving accident and it fit perfectly! Very moving!)

Daylight Robbery- Imogen Heap (fast, really interesting song)

Going Under- Evanescence (faster, sad/angry definitely)

Haunted- Evanescence (very haunting song, very emotional song)

Hello- Evanescence (slow; hauntingly beautiful; this song makes me think of a school shooting and the students trying to cope with the aftermath)

Hope this helps! Good luck in the competition!
