Question:

Good Digital Camcorder on the cheaper side?

I want to get a Digital camcorder and transfer the clips to my computer. But I want a decent cheap one. I dont want to spend $250+ on a camcorder because I wont be using it that much. I spent $400 on a Canon ES8600 Hi-8, 6 years ago, and used it 3 times (2 road trips and a wedding).

So any suggestions, my range would be under $200, but if have to go up to $250 it fine.

  2. judging from the specs this seems impossible

the camera is pretty good, but i bet it'll break in a few days or sumthin cuz that price is unbelievable. but i noticed u dun get lots of storage capacity.

don't get an hd, you will not be able to entirely enjoy it unless ur rich

the best storage for hd camcorders is dvc and the hd ones are pretty expensive. and don't think about saving all the movies to your computer because one hour (1 tape) is about 45GB. YES, that is DEFINATELY good quality. but unless u can harness that onto bluray, or a big server, its not worth it. plus if you get anything other than hd ur losing quality but ull hav to pay a lot because of hte huge proccessor used to downgrade quality'

  3. Try canon,

  4. Might want to consider an ultra portable camera the Flip and Vado are the cheapest around. The flip costs $130 of regular (it also has an ultra and mino but more expensive) and the Vado costs $100. From what I've read the flip takes better vid than the vado. Mind that they both only record 640x480 resolution, which is good for youtube videos.
