get the new nikon coolpix. They are super easy to use, take great pictures, come in cool colors and not super expensive!

Hi Sarah.    Sony makes a whole line of cameras from cheap digital point and shoots to expensive dSLRs - and models all in between.    You don't want to go too cheap with a lightweight tiny camera that falls apart after a few uses... and truly,   you can go through 20-30 of these Answer pages and find tons of questions dealing with broken cameras.   If there were others that I thought would be better for what you are asking for,  I would have listed them... meaning I don't recommend many of those on the shelf.   There are, of course, Nikon and Canon.. but I am thinking you are interested in spending less than what these usually cost.   Hope that helps.  thanks for reading.
