I need a good for punk rock/ Alternative Rock music. Distortion pedal with bit long sustain. Some kind sound like of Blink182 and Green day.

Do think tube screamers and boss Ds1 or Sd1 are some thing that suitable for this.

Actually I am thinking making one it would better if you suggest one for which schematic/layout are easily available.

  1. Boss MT-2 (Metal Zone) I love this pedal, you can use it for pretty much any distortion effect. (also overdrive if you want) Here are some pretty cool settings, try them out at a store.

    Distortion 1.

    Level: 9:00

    Equalizer Low: 12:00

    Equalizer High: 5:00

    Equalizer Middle 12:00

    Equalizer Mid Freq 5:00

    Distortion: 5:00

    Overdrive 1.

    Level 9:00

    Equalizer Low: 12:00

    Equalizer High: 3:00

    Equalizer Middle: 12:00

    Equalizer Mid Freq: 3:00

    Distortion: 9:00

This is my favorite pedal, I use it all the time. Think of the k***s like clocks.

(Oh and if you want a sound kind of like AC/DC uses, use the overdrive setting with the distortion k**b at 12:00)

P.S If you want good sustain, get a better guitar like the Dean Vendetta.

  2. Full Tone makes some great stuff.  The Tube screamer is pretty good too.

Thomas Delonge of Blink 182 uses his amps to get his tone, i believe a Mesa triple rectifier and a Marshall JCM 900.

  3. The DS-1 and SD-1 pedals are good for the distortion you're wanting. My advice is to take your guitar to the local shop and plug in. If it sounds like the tone you want then by all means have at it. The Ibanez Tubescreamer is a great pedal also, but it's really hard to find an original one at a decent price. The new ones sound ok but I feel the originals have a nicer, dirtier tone.
