I am looking in to getting a GPS speedometer for an old car with no transmission speedometer drive or any other type of speedometer drive. Can anyone tell me where to find a GPS speedometer that i can hook into an existing GPS unit in the car to give me an accurate speed?

  1. My Magellan Portable GPS unit gives MPH.  Also my handheld Garmin will give you MPH too.

  2. Just get the cheapest handheld GPS receiver you can find if all  you want is a speedometer.  Even an old basic GPS receiver from the late 1990s had a screen that would tell you your speed.  The Garmin eTrex H costs around $80.  Sometimes you can find the Lowrance iFinder GO for around $60.

It sounds like you might already have a GPS receiver in the car.  You need to consult the manual (find it online if you lost it) because there is most likely a screen that will provide you with speed data.
