Check out the GARMIN RINO gps handheld radios. They are multi-channel, includes weather channel and you can acquire a gps fix on each radio from any other RINO tuned to that channel. Lots of features. I have 2 of the RINO 530's that my son and I use when we are hiking. It makes it easy to backtrack, navigate to a mutual point or find the other person in case of injury.
