Question:

Good Ideas For Wedding Favors???

by  |  earlier

I have these small favor boxes, and I don't know what to give for favors. I was thinking of making fudge(which I'm really good at) and stacking three peices to look like a little wedding cake. Do you think people will like this, does anyone have any other ideas on what I could put in my favor boxes?

  1. Where do you live? It may be a little warm for fudge. My co-worker had wrapped taffy(she got married May 08 in Santa Barbara, CA) in her boxes and the taffy was her wedding colors. For my wedding we are going with tea,(We are getting married in June 09 in San Diego, CA). The boxes will be our wedding colors. Check out this small on line store: www.mwdkrafts.ecrater.com. The owners name is Sona, she is GREAT!!! She has help me and my co-worker so much. I am also getting flip flops from her. She is just starting out so prices are looow!!!

Best of luck and remember enjoy your day!

  2. Why not do a candy buffet and let people fill their boxes with candy they like! Not everyone is a fan of fudge...so if you did a candy buffet people would be able to choose what they like! Also, if you did decide to go with a candy buffet you could go to www.papermart.com and they have cute bags people could use to fill from the candy buffet and if you were set on doing fudge...you could incoporate the fudge in the boxes you've already bought into the candy buffet! Just an idea!!!

  3. It sounds like a wonderful idea.  Remember to stay in your budget. Some other ideas are the usual, mints, jordan almonds, some other type of candy.  Just don't stress about it.

I like the idea of giving the guests bubbles to blow at you while walking out of the church.

  4. Only, if it`s a summer wedding.... they might melt or get soft though...otherwise I think homemade fudge is better than anything else!!! Just beware of using anything that has traces of peanuts, never know whose hands it could get into and who may have allergies.

You could also make rice krispies in shapes of hearts and decorate them a little or put your initials or monogram on it and wrap in plastic wraps first or put them in some colored tissue and then into the box.

    All the best!

  5. you could make your own candy in the colors of your wedding.

  6. Fudge is a great idea!  The favors are difficult because most of the time it is money that you need to spend (which in most cases could probably be spent somewhere else) and the majority of the guests don't do anything with...fudge doesn't sound too expensive and who wouldn't eat some fudge?  So it would actually get used! The idea of spending money on something that people will throw away or leave at the table drives me nuts!  Trust me, when people think back to your wedding they will not be remembering what the favors were - especially the guys.  Don't stress over this piece of the planning - time and money will be better spent on other things.Long story short - Do the fudge!

  7. i think your idea of the homemade fudge sounds really nice and i would go with that, but as an alternative you could put in sugared almonds, they are quite traditional, my daughter had heart shaped smarties,

  8. June wedding and fudge favors? That's risky. High temperatures may melt the fudge. You've got a long time to think of something so go over your options very carefully.

  9. Cute, I would eat it. Be careful about the wedding date though, your delish fudge could be chocolate soup by the time people get it home or to the hotel if it is a warm day.

Are you cooking it yourself? It  might be a little much for you to do with all the rest of the wedding stuff. Good thing fudge does keep several days, you could make it well in advance.

  10. go to any craft store and get candy to put into a small hard candy in and wrap them? Or try to go to set up bookmarkers and see how long will take to oder them. Fudge people might not like. Also go to K-mart or any craft store to set up a center piece for  your guest to take home with them. What ever your color is for the groom and wedding party got that way. People will look at it for the rest of there life and think of your wedding day.Boxes might get crushed down the line  and i feel is better go another way. You can make things from color clear paper likle they do for Easter Basket and can get it in a party warehouse and check that out also for a wedding.or get small figures and put them around the boxes or around them.

  11. That sounds like a good idea!

My fiance and I are getting married in October 2009, we are giving our guests personalized Jones Soda in our wedding colors.

Its a little expensive, but its just something we really liked.

  12. I love the idea of fudge.  It's creative and it is very cheap to make--no matter how much you are making.  One thing that would be nice--include a note on the table (or side of box) that says Homemade Fudge and ingredients.  A lot of fudge has peanut butter or nuts in it and with the allergies....

Put a little one liner on top like How Sweet It is, Mr and Mrs John Smith.  Or a little rhyme like Thank you for being with us on our special day, here's some homemade fudge for you to take away.
