Question:

Good Last Name for my Characters?

Hi!

I'm writing a story and cannot for the life of me think of decent last names for my main male and female characters! They are not related in any way. For the guy, I would prefer that the last name is on the elegant side, almost angelic. For the girl, something borderline average would be nice. Maybe something with a little pizazz, like her last name is the thing that sets her apart. For purposes of my personal preference, please do not suggest your last name. Just in case I ever get it published, I don't want to have to receive calls for accused plagiarism!

Much thanks!

  1. Francis for the guys name

    or possibly Dante

  2. girl: Gunn

    guy: Vandevender

  3. I like the last name  Scrivener .... (Ska riv ena) ... if that helps to pronounce it any....

  4. Hmmm...you want her name to be average, but also unique.  What about something foreign sounding.  Von Hausen, or something like that.  Or, consider naming her after someone famous so that whenever she gets introduced she's always greeted with "oh, like the actress."  For him, you could also go foreign sounding, but if you're thinking angelic, think literally angels.  Like Adriel, Cassiel, Gabriel (like Peter), Moroni, Tennin, all names of angels in various aspects of Christianity.  If you're thinking elegant, maybe think french.  Duveax (do-vo) or something.
