Good Music Software?

Question

ok i am a song writer and i have the best lyrics and stuff but i dont play an instrument...is there software that works with windows vista that like lets you record your voice, make beats and stuff like songs that dont use instruments...basically like the producing sounds beats and clicks and stuff....help would be awesome!!!

One of the software that i use is Fruityloops FL Studio. It lets you create songs by using what's known as a piano roll. you can create beat patterns fill-ins and even instruments such as piano and strings. The music i create with it is mostly dance tunes, but i can also export the beats into wav or mp3 formats and into other professional audio programs that i use to edit audio tracks. The Fruityloops site has demo software that lets you try it out as well.

One interesting piece of software i got as a gift was Sony Acid Music Studio. It has great audio editing capabilities and lets you create your own music from clips (it comes with lots of free audio clips) or instrumental mp3s. What i mean is that if you have a song created in mp3 format, you can import it into the program and add your voice to it. Then you can blend the two. You could even be your own background singer as well :-)
