Good Paint gun for painting a truck?

What is a good paint sprayer for painting a truck? I am looking to get one for my husband but don't know the first thing about them?

  1. Devilbiss is good quality

    get a gravity feed one


  2. best bet is a high volume low pressure or hvlp gun.  saves o n paint by greatly reducing over spray.

    go to a paint (automotive) store and check out the offerings.

    look for a hlvp gun from a major manufacturer such as devilbliss.or binks

    ask about repair kits.  ask to see it broken down.

    i assume it is for colour coat.  for primer, just get a cheap knockoff of a binks #7.  pros don't usually use the same gun for primer as top coat.  primer is very abrasive to guns.

  3. if your a professional painter and can afford them go for a SATA, Binks,Sharp or Devilbiss, but for an affordable decient gun check out that $69 dollar job at Harborfreighttools.com, it's basically a Chinese copy of a SATA, I have a couple they work quite well, I also have a few of the above mentioned
