Good Places To Eat In Newyork?

Question

Hi Im Going to newyork in 5 days.

And i was wondering if anyone can name some places to eat in.

Mainly around time square please.

If not tell me some good places.

Also some good places to visit, like nbc studios etc something famous.and rockafellar center u kno somethin like that.

Avoid eating in Times Square. A bunch of tourist trap establishments catering to bus tours, students and people looking for anything to eat....not a whole lot of originality. If you're into food, and don't eat just because you have to, try some great places around the city. NY is very easy to get around in, there are subways and taxis and it's not expensive to use them. There is also a perception that eating out in NYC is very expensive. It's not if you know where to go. Explore a bit and try some fantastic options that you haven't experienced back home, you'll be glad you did. Check out the link below and have fun!

A good place to eat near Times Square that you probably won't see in any guidebook is Manganaro's Hero Boy on 38th street and ninth ave.  Italian specialties and heroes.  Very reasonably priced.  A new York institution.

Good places to eat close to Times Square -

Carmine's Italian - 44th St between 7th & 8th

John's Pizzeria - just down the street a few doors from Carmine's

Star Dust Diner (50's theme) - 51st & Broadway

Juniors -- go for dessert only - cheesecake is out of this world but food isn't very good

Call 877-523-9849 for advance tickets to Statue of Liberty to avoid the long line - they'll email them to you - $17

1/2 price Broadway show tickets sold at Marriott Marquis Hotel starting at 3:00 every day except Monday for shows that night - they take cash only

Red hop on/off tour bus 2 day pass $50 unlimited rides to all tourist attractions - get off and catch next bus when ready - buses run every 15 min. - tickets sold on most street corners in Manhattan

Today show audience - be at NBC studio  by 6:30 A.M. to get up close - bring sign to guarantee you get on camera

Top of the Rock is good place to get a good picture of Empire State Bldg - $19, but Empire State Bldg has better view of city - $17.50
