Hey I need to get my Sat scores to about 60+ in everything. I'm going to be a junior.... My dad really wants me to get the PSAT online prep from kaplan? But honestly I don't have much time before school starts so I want something less time consumptive. I was thinking the kaplan workbook. I'll do that for the psat and next summer I'll do the kaplan sat online prep class.... I wanna get prepped for the psat a little and hopefully some of that will pass onto the sat (which I'll prep a lot for) Is this a good strategy? if not what do you recommend?

  1. The PSAT is really a great prep. When I was in high school, taking that test qualified test takers for a scholarship, so that's awesome in itself. I used the Kaplan workbook and did very well, but I was already an A student. If you are a poor test taker, then perhaps a prep class will be  your best option. The up-to-date resources of Kaplan or Barron's use the questions from the previous year to prep you for what they can guess will be on the test this year. In reality, the best way to prepare is to just do practice tests until you can't take it any more. The Kaplan workbook will have up to 5 in it, and often a CD-ROM with more tests on that. Classes are expensive though, so if your dad is willing to pay for it, it would be a great opportunity for you.
