Good SAT scores?

I want to attend Indiana University, and am not sure what will be considered a "good" SAT score.

I scored a 550 on reading, 480 on math, and a 570 on my writing, totalling a 1600. Good enough? Thanks!

Based off of college board, your scores are within the range of previously accepted student...so good job. And your score is above the national average of a 1500.

The scores are a little below average for Indiana.  Take the ACT and retake the SAT.

And while this score is above the national score, it still is just average

The range for those accepted to Indiana are:

Critical Reading: 510-620

Math: 520-640

Writing: not used at Indiana

You are under on the Math which would probably exclude you unless you have a 3.8 or higher GPA and a ton of extra activities and wrote a great essay.  Plus you are not in the mid-point of the average in English.

Would highly suggest you take an SAT prep class and try to get your scores up, plus take the ACT.  Most people do better on the ACT than the SAT.

Of course you will be attending Indian University because you have a good Score Which means your GPA IS higher than 3.2 so most universities will accept you.

Although your score was above average, it is not a great score. If you are planning on getting into the more competitive schools, you mus get a higher score. I highly recommend using Tutorfox. Tutorfox.com sells its guide for only 10 dollars, and it written by two students who scored a 2400 and a 2350 on the exam. Let me know if you need any more help and/or info. With a bit more studying your score will sky rocket...so get to it.

I think you have a decent shot at getting into those schools, but you should study to ensure that you get in...
