Question:

Good SLR camera for my mom?

Hi I'm looking to buy a new slr camera for my mom because her birthday is coming up next week. My mom really likes photography and so far all we have is a 4.1 mp sony camera with bad zooming I think it's a compact camera. Do you know which camera has overall good features at the price of maximum $700? I can buy one that's $1400 but i live in sweden and a $700 camera usually costs $1300 in Sweden.

Thanks!

  1. The Nikon D80 is a cam that's close to pro but won't break the bank, it has a lot of the same features that their higher end D200 does but it's not overwhelming to learn to use.  Plus with the newer models that Nikon has just come out with the price has dropped to right around 700.  Check out Newegg.com or Adorama.com for a decent price not sure if they ship overseas but it's worth a shot.

  2. here's some line-up for new DSLR cameras"

i got myself a canon rebel XSI/450D and i love it

    it has new 12.2 megapixel

    live view function

    3"LCD display

    anti-dust cleaning system

    good luck

  3. Canon Rebel XTi

If I were going to buy and SLR, that would be the one

  4. I just purchased a Nikon D40 after a lot of reserach. It has great controls and the best preview screen out of all of them. It retails for $500 new, but you can find deals if you look. It comes as a kit with the popular 18mm - 55mm lens. If you want to zoom, you'll need a separate lens (the 18mm - 200mm is the popular choice that won't break the bank). This is true of all DSLR cameras, though. Pay attention to the included lens to make sure it has the range you want.
