Hi there! Happy 4th of July!!! Anyway... I was wondering if you guys knew a good de-chlorine shampoo. I am a swimmer, and I am constantly in the pool, and my hair is SO dry! Anyone know any good tips about hair care with swimmmers? If so please tell!!! THANKS!!!

  1. When I was younger I used UltraSwim most of the time. However, I've found over the years that the shampoo is quite so important as good conditioning. You still need to shampoo to get the chlorine out as much as you can, but conditioning is what moisturizes your hair and protects it from further damage.

When your conditioning your hair, leave the conditioner in for a couple of minutes before rinsing it. That will help the moisture to sink in a little more. You can also do those once a week hair conditioning treatments to give it a little more help.

Finally, your hair's dryness may improve as you get older. When I was younger my hair was constantly like straw (even with special swim shampoos and deep conditioning treatments daily and weekly), but after I was a teenager it wasn't the same fine little girl texture and was more resilient. It still gets dry, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was.

  2. bed head products and herbal essences are amazing with my hair. I'm constantly swimmimg too, and these products really help with dry hair.

Good Luck--(ps--the orange tangerine kind of bed head smells really really good....it's my favorite)
