Its my first year doing cross country for my Jr. High. We all stretch before we run and my legs and arms feel fine but i get horrible cramps in my lower stomach area and it causes me to have to stop. Other than that i could do very well in this sport. My coach doesn't do any stomach stretches but he lets us do personal stretch at the end and i don't know how to stretch out my stomach area so could you guys give me some good stretches i could use? I would like a couple of stretches and detail please.

Thank you,

Hannah

  1. first, when you're running and you get cramps in your stomach: pinch the side of your stomach. that usually helps. for stretching, put your legs apart (almost like you're doing the splits) then touch the ground with your hands. also, if it's your first year, you might just be getting cramps because you're not used to the intense workout. ask your friends if they get cramps and what they do to ease the pain. also, tell your coach and maybe he can give you some stretches to do.

    hope that helps!
