Good Study Habits.. I have Non, What are some?

I am starting as a freshman in high school and want to get all A's so my dad won't think I'm dumb. Before I had good grades,all a's and b's, only 1 c in my life, but i have no good study habits, Can I have some, even if they're skeptic or involve some farfetched method. Thanks

Pay attention in class, take notes, and study before tests. I find index cards really helpful when I need to study something :)
