Good Workshops?

What makes a good workshop? Was it handouts, good visuals, good speakers? Think about the workshops or training you have attended, what made it good or bad? A group I am in is thinking of hosting a workshop for high school girls about college, any ideas or suggestions?

What makes a good workshop is that the information provided is appropriate for the audiences' needs. PERIOD. Handouts, visuals, a dynamic speaker -- NONE of that matters unless the information being provided is exactly what the audience wants and needs, and points them in the direction of even more resources/info for after the workshop is over.
