Good activities for elderly blind woman?

I have been volunteering to be a friendly visitor to a legally blind woman who was not born blind but it has occured over recent years. I was wondering what activities would be good to do with her, she can see some what but her vision keeps getting worse. She can't watch tv anymore but can still play bingo with special cards. She is pretty depressed about her condition since she has lived with vision for her whole life so this is a new adjustment. She is also on oxygen so its hard for her to get out for long period of time. So any ideas of things we can do?

  1. I run a program where I utilize volunteers to visit lonely seniors. I find that large print playing card, giving manicures, having a picnic, creating a book club in which you read and then the two of you discuss points of what was read are all very beneficial. Also, cook something together because it emphasizes other senses like texture, smell and taste. If your senior is interested in learning the computer, they have a program to visually enhance images enormously and speak to the senior what is on the computer.
