I am a 16 year old kid looking for a user-friendly car to sup up. I am looking preferably for a stick shift coup that is under $6000. I am intelligent enough to work on engines and I want the car to work on as a hobby. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

  1. BiG A has the right idea.  They are cheap to buy, and there are thousands of aftermarket manufacturers who make performance parts, suspension mods, dress-up accessories, etc. for the old Beetles.

On top of that, IMO they look really cool in those vintage-style two-tone paint schemes.

  2. try a vintage Beetle, Karmann Ghia or Fastback. You can outrun a Mustang with the right tweaks, win trophys at the vintage car show and ease your pockets by saving gas at the pump. That's one option.
