i have an XC bike right now with only 4" of travel all around. i am getting into bigger jumps and drops now and 4" is not enough. im bottoming out on 4ft drops.

i was looking for a frame with at least 6" of travel. i will be building it up probably with a maverick duc32 fork (or a comparable dual crown fork) and full XT kit.

i want something that is fairly lightweight and has an air shock, im not a heavy guy (160lbs fully loaded) and want something that is still fairly light for climbing. i would like to keep the total weight of the bike to less than 30lbs.

i also want to build this bike for less than $1800, i'll be buying mostly used off ebay

what frames do you recommend?

  1. I would say the frame of a haro or a redline bike

  2. I have a BMC Superstroke 07 Model.  It has 150mm or 6 inches of travel.  I use it for free ride and aggresive all mountain.  It does good on the drops you say you take.  I picked it up at Jensonusa.com.  Also it has good climbing ability.
