Good and Bad things about Cruises?

I will be going on a Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean in the sumer of 2009 and I was wondering what are the good things about the cruise and what are the bad things about the cruise .... or just the whole system !!! Thanks

Good things:

You get to go to several places in a short amount of time

you are pampered with food,cabin service,and even a message

You don't have to worry about where you are going or where you are eating for the evening

you do what you want and no driving.

Cons:

you would like to stay longer, but you have a ship to catch.

Cruising is a great vacation!  We have taken at least 1 cruise per year for about the last 6 years.

Be aware that the summer, from July to November is hurricane season.  Cruises can be re-routed or delayed due to storms.

Make sure your have your Passport for a 2009 cruise.

There are "extra" expenses above and beyond your fare.  Carnival is a cashless system (except the casino).  You set up an account when you board with either a cash deposit or a credit card.  You can limit your spending if you use a cash deposit.  Or like me, get sticker shock if you use a credit card.

Don't overpack...try to take 1 pair of shoes for the evenings...take 2 swimsuits (no one likes to put on a wet suit).

the bad thing is you have a limited schedule and don't get to spend much time at port. the good thing is there is food and drink all the time!

I love cruises! They are a relaxing but exciting way to travel to new places. Cruises are an easy way to travel- you never have to worry about getting a safe place to sleep or finding good food- its all onboard! There is minimal effort getting to place to place beacuse the ship takes you to each port. Along with the necessities, most cruises have pools, gyms, spas, and tons of things to do onboard and during sea days. Of course, there are downsides to taking a cruise. Most of the time you can only visit ports that are near the sea- this limits your travels. And then there is the price- you really do pay for convience.

But in my opinion, paying that price is Definatly worth it!

i went on a cruise and it rocked.  cuz you get food almost all the time.  bring cute clothes though.  bad thing is that it is HOT!

A cruise has everything....different venues for food, 24 hour free room service, pools and spas, entertainment day and night, wine tastings, games that the guests participate in, a different show every night, midnight buffets, many bars and lounges to choose from, a casino, comfortable staterooms and  a wonderful crew.   Very friendly atmosphere and everyone is always in a good mood!  You can't beat it!!
