  1. For me the good was: Good money , a sense of pride, I made great friends I still keep in touch with, and I got to travel the world.

The bad was: seeing my friends die, moving away from friends that I had just made, leaving my family behind and fear for my life.

  2. all this hoorah about good pay, well its not really, you get paid to go out and risk your life and for the pay you get, its not worth it.

  3. You will meet and have to work with some of the rudest, and stupidest people you can imagine. You will also meet some of the best people on earth. Try to hang-out with the latter.

  4. For a better answer talk to a National Guard recruiter, they aren't as hard up for enlistees as the regular folks and a lot of the benefits carry over.

In my personal experience, I was able to pay for my entire undergraduate education because of the Army.  They also take care of pretty much anything you need while you are on active duty.

The bad part is that you are part of an organization where people cannot be fired from.  Think about that for a minute.

No matter how big of a d-bag you are, you cannot get kicked out just based on those grounds.  You end up with a fairly miserable organization when that is the case and personally, I HATED it.

Still, it affords many opportunities, and for a lot of people it is a really decent way to go.  If you have a career in mind for post-military, try to get into an MOS in that field.  If you plan to be a lifer, well then... thank you.  Good luck, and I hope everything turns out for the best for you.

  5. good - decent pay, good benefits, good training, admirable, travel, you'll make really good friends, px, commisary

bad - moving around a lot(if you dont like it), being away from friends and family, deployment, high risk, being told what to do all the time

  6. The GOOD: Financial stablity, future job opportunites, and the whole "feeling like you've done something for your country"

The BAD: People will miss you, you'll feel like it was a terrible mistake while goint through bootcamp, and I've heard that the food sucks.

All and all, I'd go for it, if I wasn't kinda lazy and addicted to Myspace. :P

Best of luck, and if you do go in...just make sure they don't change you too much!

  7. they pay for everything, you get to learn to kill... you can get killed.

  8. good = honor and dignity

bad = slow death better pray for it to be quick
