Good and creative fundraising ideas?

Question

I have two cause I am trying to raise money for.

The first would be through my school interact club. I have a particular cause chosen allready but I need a creative way to get the school community involved.

The second would be for my cadet corps. Currently there is allready a penny drive as well as a can drive and a dance, but I need another way to individually make some of my own efforts to keep the corps from going down hill. I was thinking a Guitar Hero contest nearing the end of April, and if I plan to do this I need a plan of how to work it.

All subjestions will help.

Well, my school does an annual charity every year. They go caroling at local stores, knock on the neighborhood doors and ask if they can do any odd jobs (cooking, cleaning, brushing teeth, you name it, they do it.) They have an assembly to get everyone pumped up in the beginning. then they have a closing assembly. They also do lunch room activities every day like, pay for your friends to kiss an alpaca. If they don't pay that much money then they have to kiss it. It is really fun and the entire school gets involved. This year our school raised $80,159.08 in just three weeks. So you guys could do it too.

You can have a bake sale and ask people to donate baked goods.  Have a fashion show and ask friends to model clothing.  You can also have a car or dog washing day.  Maybe have a version of American Idol and have everyone pay a certain amount and then give a prize to the winner.  The prize could be a gift card, basket or trophy.  You can ask a business to donate the prize.
