Good bait for fishing in a pond

Question

My dad and I tried fishing in a pond behind our house (located in a canyon), but they wouldn't bite. We tried using night crawlers but nothing happened. When I cut my line and threw the worm in a fish came up to it, bit it and then spit it out. What other kind of bait can I use when I go back in a few hours? There are mostly big mouth bass. Please keep in mind that I need to be able to get the bait at the local pet store! :D

Just about anything that is live or from somthing that was alive

With large mouth bass an artificial lure usually works best.  You may have luck using rooster livers, they work very well.  Good luck

try texas rigging a lizzard or worm,,, or a tubejig,,  good luck!!

Use yamamoto plastic worms. They work great. You can buy them at your local walmart or bait store for $5 for an 8 pack. I caught three nice large mouth bass using the yamamto worms. If the water in blurry use a shiny color if the water is clear and clean use a dark or greenish color. Hook the worm using the texas rig style. its truley a unique style that attracts fish and keeps you worms from getting stuck on rocks and weeds. Below i put a link that wil sjow you how to do the texas rig. This is a lure so you want to cast then reel in slow with a little tug just to give action to the worm.
