  1. The Apple Tree, round the back of Mount Pleasant is excellent.  Generally Exmouth Market is full of tossers.  Cafe Kick has a good vibe though.  There's also a pub called Old China Hand on Tysoe Street that's good, loads of character.  The Union also used to be a good pub, all Edwardian but it's changed to a bit of a poncey place now.  Food is excellent though.  The Easton is also nice but gets busy.  Nice to sit outside though.

Depends what you are after - overpriced drinks and food with a lot or pretentious types, or a taste of the old Clerkenwell.

  2. How about the The Jerusalem Tavern, 55 Britton Street? An old pub dating from 1720, very small, which has a range of St Peter's ales. This pub is well worth a visit, and does serve food too. Do not miss this one.

  3. All the bars in Exmouth Market are quite good.

There is Cottons which is a Carribean Bar, Dollar Martini which serves fancy cocktails and gourmet burgers and cafe kick which is more laid back.
