Question:

Good battery powered amp on wheels with decent specs?

I'm a busker looking for a portable amp that runs off batteries and is on wheels with a handle (I'd be wheeling it from my house to a train station, then off the train and through the city) that has decent specs - playing in pitt street mall, Sydney Australia - crowds can come up to 100 people, LOTS of background noise, other buskers have 200W systems with generators but these are outside my price range (around $600). What's a good one for this? I'd be looking to buy over eBay/the internet, locally or from someone who can do delivery. I would need Guitar and mic input, wireless capability wireless mic would be a big plus, auxillary input for backing tracks would be good. EQ settings are kindof important. Just looking for suggestions on suitable systems? I've looked at a Pyle audio 400w system on ebay, it's the kind of thing I'm aiming for.

suggestions greatly appreciated.

  1. only small setups run on batteries, youll have the hardest time finding a battery powered amp for 100+ people...

The only amps I know of are the Roland Cubes which sound great and run on batteries depending on what you get.  Look into those.  I would say the Cube Street.
