Good bedtime?

is 10pm a good bedtime for a 14 year old if he has to get up at 6 or 6:30

If you can get up without any problems then 10 pm or later is fine, however if you require 10 hours of sleep then you need to make the mature decision to be in bed lights out at 8pm even if friends your age or younger stay up later or if you have a younger sibling that stays up later. You should demonstrate your maturity by going to bed at 8 if you need the 10 hours sleep even if other kids at school think it is odd. You need to have your room sufficiently darkened if it is the time of year when the sun is still up. I have found internet references of teens going to be at 8pm or earlier so do it if you need the sleep. Do not be ashaned to go to bed at this time if you need it. You will need less sleep when you become an adult so consider this an investment in your future.
