Question:

Good bible study verse for Jr High girls?

I posted earlier this week for a verse or chapter to go through with my seventh grade girls and I got some really good suggestions, but I am looking for more of a story, like Ruth or Esther, something that they can break down and figure out how to relate it to their lives... hopefully presenting more of a challenge to them. (as opposed to proverbs that are pretty straight foreward)

anything helps.

thanks!

  1. Although I don't have a Bible with me here, Deborah is a great example: she was a warrior woman who defeated enemies of Israel in the Old Testament,

  2. Either Ruth or Esther are great.  I taught Esther to a young lady who was having extreme self and God confidence.  Her parents concluded after the counseling that I was a miracle worker.  IT was not me, but by the grace of God I showed the young lady that God had a plan for her, that she could a Queen Esther of modern times if she would seek God and pray as if all depends on God.

    Ruth is great too.

  3. Well, the story of Sarah and her love for Abraham is always a good lesson, if you want them to be able to relate to a woman in the Bible.

Personally, I like the verses of The Wife of Noble Character, which is found in last chapter of Proverbs, about verse 18 on.  When you see the responsibilities and the hard work and the praise they received from their family, it's encouraging, rather than some of the more misunderstood verses that Paul wrote about in Corinthians.

  4. dont.

  5. Rev. 22: 17The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Who is this bride, who has the authority to give us eternal life in the last days?  She must be important.

Rev. 21: 9One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb." 10And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.

The bride is the heavenly Jerusalem that is coming to the earth in the last days.  Then what is her relation to us being God's children?  What do you call the wife of your father??  She must be our Heavenly Mother, but let us make sure the Bible says so.

Galatians 4:26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother

Yes, the bride, the heavenly Jerusalem is OUR mother.  We have God the Father and God the Mother, the Spirit and the bride who will appear in the last days (now) to give us the water of life.

Just as physcial mothers were created to give physcial life, it is our spiritual Mother who gives us spritual life.

There is much more concerning this in the story of Hagar and Sarah.  If you want to know more, then let me know.

  6. sorry i didnt get your question because i didnt read it....jajajajaj...sorry ..im really sorry

  7. well im in ninth grade and i hated when we used to read out of the bible

    make it more fun please!!!

i am telling you people the truth and you know what you give me hands down  you all suck...your not the ones who has to sit through the boring classes and listen to people like you repeat themselfs...i love god and im a christian but please get over your selfs

  8. Try Debra in Judges.

You want to really excite that age group? Teach Ruth again, only look at it as a "type".

    Naomi = Israel

Ruth = The Church (she was NOT a Jew remember)

Boaz = Yeshua (Jesus) as the Kinsman Redeemer

    Mordecai = The Holy Spirit

  9. Mohrbidd 10:53:64 - Don't listen to the bible.

  10. What about Mary Magdalene???

  11. Why tell anyone lies and fairytales?

  12. I have always found good stories in Corinthians...

  13. You might want to get a bible study book that the girls can discuss. I just went on Christianbook.com and came across some books that may be good:

Everybody Tells Me to Be Myself, but I Don't Know Who I Am: Building Your Self-Esteem

The Real Me: Being the Girl God Sees

    Big Girls Don't Whine

If these are too mature, check out these books:

    I hope these resources help

  14. Ezekial 23:19-20 "Yet she turned to even greater prostitution, remembering her youth when she was a prostitute in Egypt. She lusted after lovers with genitals as large as a donkey's and emissions like those of a horse."

  15. I have always liked Philipians4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I these troubled times (and with the difficulties facing young people today) this scripture says so much. To be joyful (and that is repeated.) Confidence in the Lord's presence. How to petition God, and finally the quiet that should follow. Hope this was a helpful response.

  16. this might help you
