Good birthday party restaurants in Toronto, Ontario?

Hey!

I'm having a 24th birthday celebration on Friday, and I can't think of a good restaurant in Toronto downtown to have it at. I want to go some place inexpensive, and with a 'hip' atmosphere. A place that serves food and has a dance floor to party at night would be cool.

Any suggestions?

  1. How about the Old Spagetti Factory or the Organgrinder both on the Esplanade south of the Hummingbird Center, then there is Shopsy's at Front and Yonge.

Mr Greejeans in Eaton Center or JJ Muggs at the Dundas enterance, Sai Woo at Bay and Dundas is nice change, it is both hip and a different change of pace.

  2. I would definetly suggest two places - The Sultan's Tent has good food and wicked environment with Belly Dancing too.  We got someone up for bellydancing once there ... was funny!  Birthday to remember.  French and Morroccan food.  $40 for 4 courses - good price - private tents.

The other place would be Foundation Room - right around corner from The Sultan's Tent - Morroccan themed - very awesome lighting and tapas offered.  Great music and close to the restaurant with Belly Dancing ..

Check out the two places with the two links below that I found helpful - lets you go inside the building on-line by clicking on their doors -  to see images and menus and reservations:

  3. Montanas .

  4. Try Montana's.  (not the chain restuarant.. the one at richmond & john - by the paramount theatre).  Its got a nice cozy diner atmosphere on the ground level (not to expensive either), and a bar/club upstairs with two rooms.  One room is kind of retro/mainstream, the other is dance/R&B.  Always a good night there.

  5. i love the laurentian room on winchester in cabbagetown.  they have great music and sometimes live entertainment like tiger lily the berlesque troupe.  entrees are abot 20-24 dollars.  the atmosphere is incredible.  very chic and urban creative trend crowd.  another good one is at yonge and eglington...alley cats they have live bands most nights.  can't remember the name of the one behind it.  it starts with an s and it too is very good.  happy birthday and have fun

  6. Happy birthday !!

I think Milestones (corner of Queen and Richmont) is perfect location.. great atmosphere.. reasonable priced.. great food and if you are looking to go clubbing afterwards you are in the right neighbourhood.

  7. Grace O'Malleys on Duncan St in Toronto in the Entertainment District.

It's an Irish pub so they have good, cheaper food.  On Fridays and Saturdays they have a live band followed by a DJ for dancing.  It's usually a cover band each time I've been who play a range of songs.  it's mostly the university crowd who shows up.  It's usually jam-packed on the weekends with a line up and cover after 10pm.  If you go early there is no cover.  They have both tables, booths, and couches.   Drinks are about average prices.

    happy Birthday
