Good bodyboarding spots in california?

Question

I want to take a friend of mine bodyboarding. he's a beginer

so I want to take him somewhere where he would be safe and somewhere where the waves dont break offshore. because he doesnt have that experience yet. I want to take him somewhere.. where the waves dont break to close to shore. so that he can get the hang of it a lil better. Ive done spots im malibu/the wedge.
