Good books? Dark, horror, mystery,vampire, etc.?

Question

I'm looking for something new to read :)

But I'm not sure which books to buy... I don't want to spend money on something I probably won't like

I live in Slovenia (Europe) but I prefer to read books in English - which can be a bit hard to find in the library and I usually just end up buying whatever sounds interesting either on ebay or amazon

(I'm a fan of Anne Rice, Stephen King,... if this helps)

try reading books by stephanie meyer, they have vampires and romance and a little darkness in them, i am reading twilight right now and its good.

Based upon your cultivated taste I really recommend the dark new thriller called: BLOOD PROPHECY.

Twilight is about vampires and werewolves by Stephenie Meyer...but it's more of a love story rather than horror. You could deffinately buy a hardcover set on either Ebay or Amazon. Blue Bloods is a series by Melissa De La Cruz which is about vampires also.

I'd sincerly suggest you read John Dies At The End. It was supposed to be a scary story ( or at least what my friend told me), and when I read it I figured out it wasnt. But yet it was sooo good and has dark themes (like demons), and scene of intentional humour, which were hilarious!

On amazon the book costs $126 but you can read it online for free. Just google the name or go to johndiesattheend.com.

You can also read part of the seqeul, which is called Dave Dies At The End.

Its a very very enjoyable read, that wont cost you a fortune since its free online.

Hi!

    I think you should try the Twilight series (I just finished the last book and I love it).It has a little bit of everything.If you also like the whole "witch" thing I recommend you The Great and Terrible Beauty series(it's not really horror but it is great).From Edgar Allan Poe you should read the tale called "The Tell-Tale Heart".And from King you should try " It".I don't really remember more titles because when I was into the "horror stuff" I was 12 or so and I know I've read a lot of good books but I don't really remember their names.I hope you find this useful.
