Good books for me to read?

i lik good cliffhanger books, drama suspence but not very fat, im in 8th grade. i lik a show called 'code geass' [about a guy who can control people at comand] if i could read a book like that [not anime boks] i dont lik harry potter fat books

I would recommend The Host by Stephenie Meyer, Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, The Shining by Stephen King, Misery by Stephen King, Four Past Midnight by Stephen King (more specifically, The Langoliers and Secret Window, Secret Garden. Four Past Midnight is a collection of four novellas), and Everything's Eventual by Stephen King (has fourteen short stories. I'm currently reading it and love it). I would also recommend The Princess Bride (the abridged version by William Gold... something. I think it's Golding. Just be sure to get the abridged version because otherwise you'll read sixty pages describing packing).

And you should give manga (not anime books; it is called manga) a chance. A really good series is Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. Enjoy!
